‘Playing against Chelsea doesn't sit right with me’ – John Terry rejected big-money offers in favour of Aston Villa move

John Terry has revealed he rejected more lucrative offers to remain in the Premier League in favour of joining Aston Villa – because he could face playing against his beloved Chelsea.

The 36-year-old’s departure from Stamford Bridge, after 22 successful years at the club, was confirmed on Saturday as he left as a free agent.

And confirmation of his move to Villa Park came soon after on Monday, as he penned a one-year contract with the Championship outfit.

Terry won five Premier League titles and ten other major honours during his two decade-long career in London.
