Nottingham Forest make enquiry about Aston Villa outcast Ross McCormack

Nottingham Forest are ready to offer Ross McCormack a way out of Aston Villa.

The striker has been training with Villa’s Under-23s ever since using a stuck electronic gate as an excuse for missing a first-team session and Villa have been trying to offload him either permanently or on loan.

Villa have even suggested subsidising almost half his £45,000 per week wages to sort a move.

Steve Bruce said on Monday that no calls had come in for the 30-year-old, signed for £12million last summer, but Forest have now made an enquiry.

Bruce was so angered by McCormack claiming his electronic gates would not open as an excuse for missing training earlier this month that he went public on the matter, adding it was not the first time his player had failed to show when required at Bodymoor Heath.
