Nottingham Forest loanee Ross McCormack confirms he was late for Aston Villa training because of a faulty gate but refuses to criticise ex-manager Steve Bruce

Ross McCormack refused to ignite a war of words with Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce after his switch to Nottingham Forest, after confirming he was late for training at the Birmingham club because of a faulty gate.

The striker joined Forest on loan until the end of the season on transfer deadline day after falling out of favour with Bruce.

McCormack endured a nightmare time at Villa, scoring just three goals in 22 games following a £12million move from Fulham in the summer.
