Alexander Isak again proved his class as he scored twice to help Newcastle thrash Tottenham 4-0 at a rapturous St James' Park.
Goals in both halves from the Swede took his tally for the season to 21 and helped bump Newcastle up to sixth place.
Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schar also got in on the act as Newcastle, who now have 10 points in their last four games, continued their recent revival.
It was a clumsy day for Van de Ven, who slipped twice to allow Isak and Gordon a free hit at the hapless Guglielmo Vicario from point-blank range.
