John Terry has laid bare his determination to one day manage Chelsea after taking what he believes will be the first step on that path by sealing a move to Aston Villa.

The former England captain has signed a one-year playing contract worth around £80,000 per week including bonuses but feels his coaching aspirations will benefit from working with Steve Bruce.

Terry's target this coming campaign is to help Villa gain promotion to the Premier League but the 36-year-old has also looked further ahead at one day entering the Stamford Bridge dugout as boss.
