FC Charlotte hold talks with Ashley Westwood after Burnley boss Vincent Kompany admitted the midfielder is considering 'a once in a lifetime' move to Major League Soccer

FC Charlotte are hopeful of completing the signing Burnley's Ashley Westwood as they look to build on an encouraging first season in Major League Soccer.

The Eastern Conference team wants to add the experienced midfielder to its roster and are in talks about a move. He was recently seen at the Charlotte Hornets NBA game against the Atlanta Hawks on December 16.

The 32-year-old has made 286 appearances in the Premier League with both Aston Villa and Burnley, scoring 12 goals.
