Erik ten Hag has ruled out another loan move for Donny van de Beek, saying the Dutch playmaker must either prove himself at Manchester United or leave Old Trafford for good.
Van de Beek started his third game in a row in Thursday’s Carabao Cup win over Aston Villa but has yet to reach the levels that persuaded United to pay A£40million for him two years ago after he made his name at Ajax under Ten Hag.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton after a permanent move to Goodison Park fell through, but Ten Hag would not be in favour of another temporary move in January.
