BREAKING NEWS: Frank Lampard tells Norwich he is dropping OUT of the running to be their new manager, with former Chelsea boss no longer wanting to be considered... leaving Dean Smith as favourite

Frank Lampard has dropped out of the running for the Norwich job, paving the way for Dean Smith to emerge as the prime contender.

Lampard had held talks with the Canaries about replacing Daniel Farke, but is no longer a candidate. Sources close to the managerial situation at Carrow Road have told Sportsmail he no longer wants to be considered.

The development could now see Smith, who was only sacked by Aston Villa last week, emerge as the top target for Norwich.
