Aston Villa have the option of bringing back Jack Grealish following his three-match suspension for the home meeting with Blackburn Rovers.
But Jordan Ayew is now banned after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 1-1 draw at Birmingham on Sunday and Albert Adomah is struggling to be fit after suffering a dead leg.
Blackburn are again without defenders Tommie Hoban and Derrick Williams.
Hoban's dislocated shoulder is now being assessed by parent club Watford.
He could be out for up to three months, while full-back Williams' hamstring problem will sideline him for several weeks.
