Aston Villa are set to miss out on Nico Williams as the winger has agreed to sign a new contract with Athletic Bilbao.
Villa had been heavily linked with a move for the Spain international but he will be staying at Athletic, where there was just one year left on his current deal.
As reported by Cadena Cope, Williams' release clause of £42m (€50m) will remain intact and it seems likely that he will leave next summer.
Williams was eager not to run down his contract and leave for free.
The 20-year-old has made 85 appearances for Athletic so far, while he has scored twelve goals and has provided seven assists.
