Aston Villa sacked a scout accused of abusing young players but did not go to the police, it emerged today.
Ted Langford worked for the club and Leicester City in the 1970s and 80s and was later convicted of child abuse.
A victim of the paedophile says he told Aston Villa what Langford had done to him in 1988 but the club failed to inform authorities.
Tony Brien says Langford - who ran a youth team called Dunlop Terriers - told him he needed a sperm sample to see if he had a 'footballer's gene' that would make him into a great player.
