Steve Bruce believes Aston Villa’s young players are the future as the club isn’t in a position to spend millions of pounds.
The Villa manager praised the efforts of his young players in the 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Colchester United on Wednesday night but also paid tribute to his new captain.
Chelsea legend – now Villan – John Terry was in attendance at the Weston Homes Community Stadium despite not being part of the match day squad.
Instead the new captain at Villa Park was there to support the club’s youth who featured in a much-changed lineup for Bruce as they advanced to the next round of the cup.
