Yellow cards for the screamers... refs can take action after Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette was mocked for his 'world record' scream following foul by Burnley defender Erik Pieters

Lawmakers IFAB say referees can caution players for screaming if they feel it is an attempt to deceive them, after Alexandre Lacazette’s melodramatic reaction to being fouled was widely mocked.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche said Arsenal scored high on the ‘scream-o-meter’ during their 1-1 draw at Turf Moor on Saturday. Match of the Day host Gary Lineker and pundits Ian Wright and Dion Dublin poked fun at Lacazette later that evening, too, ending the show screaming and falling off their chairs.

Lacazette had been fouled by Erik Pieters and his screams could be heard clearly at the empty stadium, suggesting serious injury.
