Sean Dyche longs for the day when he runs an Everton team who aren't regarded as long shots in big games.

Dyche relied on being a gutsy outsider for 10 years at Burnley and will have to tap into the same mentality when relegation-threatened Everton travel to Anfield on Monday for the Merseyside derby.

However the 51-year-old, who started his Goodison career with a rousing win against leaders Arsenal last weekend, wants the club to eventually progress beyond the giant-killing stage.

'We don't want to see ourselves as underdogs all the time at Everton Football Club, that's for sure, but currently we are so use it to your advantage with a bit of freedom and that competitive nature, spirit and organisation of the team.
