THE NOTEBOOK: Arsenal pounced to offer goalscorer Bukayo Saka a new deal BEFORE the World Cup, former Gunners star David Bentley is spotted in the media lounge - and could Jack Wilshere help lure Declan Rice to the Emirates this summer?

Arsenal continued their ascendancy at the top of the Premier League after a confident 4-0 thumping of Everton on Wednesday night.

Bukayo Saka maintained his fine form by getting on the scoresheet as he and Gabriel Martinelli both gave Arsenal a two-goal cushion just before the half time interval.

Martin Odegaard made it three in the second half before Martinelli grabbed his second of the evening to make it a rout with the fourth of the evening.

The result sees Arsenal regain their five-point lead over Man City as they bid for a first league title since 2004.
