'That was our chance to KILL the game': Mikel Arteta rues Arsenal's title race slip-up against Liverpool as he insists that his players 'lost control' at Anfield...but admits he felt the draw was a 'fair result'

Mikel Arteta admitted his Arsenal side 'lost control' against Liverpool in Sunday's enthralling 2-2 draw at Anfield as Roberto Firmino's late header ensured points were shared.

Arteta watched his side's initial two-goal lead expire as Mohamed Salah first reduced the deficit before Firmino came off the bench to strike late.

The Arsenal manager saw his side slip-up in the Premier League title race with their gap to chasers Man City - who have a game in hand on them - reduced to just six points.

As he analysed his side's performance at full-time, Arteta insisted it was a 'great game to watch' and that his youthful Arsenal side had missed the 'chance to kill the game'.
