Takehiro Tomiyasu 'leaves Arsenal after club reach agreement to terminate injury-plagued defender's contract following latest surgery'

Takehiro Tomiyasu has left Arsenal following a mutual termination of his contract, according to a report.

Tomiyasu has been plagued with injuries since his £19.8m move from Bologna in 2021 but has remained a popular figure with fans.

The Japanese defender played just six minutes of football last season and underwent another knee surgery back in February.

Tomiyasu was expected to to be out of action for at least another five months with his deal set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

And the 26-year-old will no longer be seeing out that contract with BBC Sport reporting that a 'contractual settlement' has been reached.
