Steven Gerrard 'is among the candidates to become new Olympiacos manager', with Liverpool legend under consideration 'if first-choice Gennaro Gattuso does not take over at Greek side'

Steven Gerrard could be braced for a shock return to management with Greek side Olympiacos reportedly considering him for a potential move.

Gerrard has been working as a pundit since being sacked by Aston Villa after a dreadful start to the season that left the club heading towards the relegation zone.

They reacted by appointing former Arsenal manager Unai Emery who has since led them to within six points of the English top-flight's Champions League qualification spots.

Liverpool legend Gerrard is now being considered by Olympiacos and is being viewed as an alternative to Gennaro Gattuso if the Italian doesn't take the role, as reported by Greece's sport-fm.
