Alexis Sanchez set up a goal for Mauricio Isla only a minute after coming on against Russia on Friday, but it was not enough as Juan Antonio Pizzi's side had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Moscow.
The Arsenal forward started on the bench at Arena CSKA but was introduced after 55 minutes in place of Jose Fuenzalida. Within a minute the Bayern Munich and Manchester City target had helped break the deadlock, playing a delightful through ball that allowed Isla to open the scoring.
Pizzi's side could not hold on, however. They were pegged back only 11 minutes later as Viktor Vasin headed home from a corner to bring Russia back on level terms.
