Police investigate claims Ashley Cole was racially abused while working as pundit during Man City's FA Cup win at Swindon... as League Two club say they are ' saddened and deeply disgusted' and vow to ban offenders

Ashley Cole is alleged to have been subject to racial abuse during Friday's FA Cup third round tie between Swindon Town and Manchester City.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back was part of ITV's commentary team and was reportedly targeted by a Swindon fan at the County Ground.

'We are aware that one person was subject to racial abuse at the County Ground following the Swindon Town v Manchester City game,' Supt Phil Staynings of Wiltshire police said in a statement.

'We have already commenced an investigation, obtaining statements and securing CCTV.
