Riyad Mahrez netted a brace, including a fine free-kick, while World Cup winner Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden were also on the scoresheet in an easy victory for Pep Guardiola's side.
City will now face either Oxford United or Arsenal in the fourth round, while Chelsea will have to make vast improvements if they are to regain any form of pride this season.
