Pep Guardiola insists Man City's rivalry with Liverpool will rage on even without Jurgen Klopp and wishes Trent Alexander-Arnold a 'speedy recovery' after defender's trophy dig

Pep Guardiola insisted that Jurgen Klopp’s departure will have no bearing on Manchester City’s continued rivalry with Liverpool.

The two managers are set to face off for the final time in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday with just a point between them in the title race.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s comments in midweek about silverware meaning more to Liverpool lit the blue touch paper but Guardiola sarcastically defused the row – and predicted that the Reds will still cause problems once their manager leaves.

‘I wish him (Alexander-Arnold) well,’ the City boss said.
