Oleksandr Zinchenko details Ukraine's 'scary' living conditions after returning to his homeland for first time since Putin's invasion - as Arsenal star urges Russian players to speak out against 'nightmare' war

Oleksandr Zinchenko can barely keep it together as he holds court at a private venue in London Bridge.

The Arsenal defender is back in England following a harrowing trip to Ukraine, his first since conflicted erupted last year.

The destruction of a dam in the city of Nova Kakhovka has devastated lives and homes. The images of bombed schools, even zoos, have scarred Zinchenko.

Unsurprisingly, he struggles to hold back the tears. Yet he fights on, believing he has no other option.

'Living for a week with all of them, in those conditions, in the situation right now in Ukraine - it was scary,' he recalls.
