Nwaneri helps England win Euro U21 title

Ethan Nwaneri was an extra-time substitute as England defeated Germany 3-2 to retain the European Under-21 Championship.

Harvey Elliott and Omari Hutchinson gave the Young Lions a 2-0 lead before Nelson Weiper pulled one back just before half-time. Paul Nebel then levelled on 61 minutes to send the game to extra-time in Slovakia.

Ethan was introduced for James McAtee at the start of extra-time, as Jonathan Rowe headed in Tyler Morton's cross two minutes later to hand Lee Carsley's side back-to-back Euro U21 titles.
