Nottingham Forest are 'closing in on Lyon midfielder and long-time Arsenal target Houssem Aouar' as Steve Cooper's summer spending spree shows no signs of slowing down after they passed the £100m mark

Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar as they continue their summer spending spree.

The 24-year-old, who has scored 40 goals and added a further 35 assists in 216 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, is out of contract in just 12 months time.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from Lyon for the third consecutive summer and speculation has now intensified.

The 24-year-old has made more than 200 appearances for the Ligue 1 side since joining

Steve Cooper's newly-promoted Forest have already had an undisclosed offer for Aouar rejected, but are said to have now made another offer, according to Sky Sports Italy.
