Mikel Arteta looks to improve Arsenal's attacking output by challenging his Premier League side to express themselves with the same creativity as his free-scoring Europa League team

Mikel Arteta has challenged his Premier League side to express themselves like his Europa League stars.

Arsenal have performed like two very different teams in their two main competitions this season, looking fearful and restricted in the league but free-scoring with the shackles off in Europe.

They have scored just nine times in nine top-flight games – only three teams have less – but 12 in four Group B games to secure their place in the Europa League knockout stages. Arsenal have also not scored a league goal in open play for almost eight hours.
