Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal's expected signing of Eberechi Eze is not a reaction to Kai Havertz's injury.
The Gunners have an agreement in place to sign the Crystal Palace forward in a deal worth around £68million. He is expected to complete his medical today.
Rivals Tottenham Spurs had agreed terms with Eze on Wednesday, with the player keen to finalise the move, before Arsenal swooped in.
That was just hours after Havertz missed on open training session because of a knee injury he picked up against Manchester United on Sunday.
