Mesut Ozil teams up with Hollywood star Eva Longoria and model Kate Upton as part of investment group seeking to buy 50 per cent stake in bottom-of-the-table Mexican club Necaxa

Mesut Ozil has teamed up with the American actress Eva Longoria and model Kate Upton to invest in the Mexican football club Necaxa.

The pair are part of a star-studded consortium that are reportedly close to securing half the club's shares.

Sportico said former Arsenal playmaker Ozil, now at Turkish club Fenerbahce, the glamorous Hollywood film and TV star Longoria, model Kate Upton and her baseball pitcher husband Justin Verlander, and real estate investors Al Tylis and Sam Porter, were involved in group behind the share purchase.
