Man City hitman Erling Haaland is a SERIOUS doubt to face Liverpool on Saturday after missing the last TWO days of training with a groin problem - with the 42-goal striker yet to recover after dropping out of Norway duty

Erling Haaland is a serious doubt for Manchester City's showdown with Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday as he struggles to overcome a groin problem.

Haaland hasn't trained with his teammates for the last two days since City returned after the international break, having pulled out of Norway's Euro qualifiers against Spain and Georgia.

Given the lack of preparation, Pep Guardiola must decide whether he can risk his 42-goal striker in a game City need to win to close the eight-point gap on Arsenal at the top of the table.

Haaland's father Alfie has already indicated that the 22-year-old is unlikely to play if he hasn't returned to training.
