For Lia Walti, the Switzerland midfielder who has made 125 appearances for her country at international level, hosting this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 is a tantalising prospect.
Ahead of the competition, we’ve gone all the way back to 2009, when she made her debut for Young Boys’ women’s team.
Speaking to former Young Boys coach and now the club’s head of sports, Rolf Kirchhofer, we learned more about Lia’s time playing for club and country in Switzerland.
“I think that all over the four years that she was here, it was a big development phase of Lia,” he said.
