Jodie Taylor announces retirement

Jodie Taylor has officially announced her retirement from competitive football, following a career spanning 21 years.

The 37-year-old striker spent two spells at the club, most recently joining us from San Diego Wave for the last three months of the 2023/24 season. Taylor made eight Women’s Super League appearances for us during that period, helping us reach a third-place finish.

In her first season at the club between 2016 and 2017, Taylor scored 10 goals in just 17 appearances.

Taylor is a UEFA Women’s Champions League winner with Lyon, an FA Cup winner with Birmingham City and a W-League champion with Melbourne City.
