Jen Beattie retires from international football

Jen Beattie has announced her retirement from international football, bringing an brilliant 15-year career with the Scottish National Team to an end.

From 2008 to 2023, our defender earned 144 senior caps for her country, scoring 24 goals in the process. She made her senior debut for Scotland aged only 16, coming on as a second-half substitute against the United States.

Jen was awarded an MBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List for her services to football and charity, alongside compatriot and fellow Gunner Kim Little. In 2021, she received the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards for her incredible bravery and work on breast cancer awareness following her own cancer diagnosis.
