'It would be something special': Martin Keown wants Arsenal to appoint Arsene Wenger as Sir Chips Keswick's successor as chairman... but admits he probably wouldn't want a boardroom role

Martin Keown claims legendary manager Arsene Wenger would be the perfect choice to take over as Arsenal chaiman.

Last week, Sir Chips Keswick retired as chairman of Arsenal after spending 15 years on the board - revealing he always planned to step down at the end of the season but brought his decision forward due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Gunners now need to look at who will succeed Keswick as chairman, but Keown insists Arsenal should look no further than former manager Wenger.

However, the former Arsenal centre back - who won three Premier League titles, as many FA Cups and one European Cup WInners' Cup with the club - admitted that a move is very doubtful.
