'It shows the world what we are about': Arsenal's £45m capture of Thomas Partey hailed by fellow new boy Runar Alex Runarsson as he claims signing highlights Gunners' Premier League and Champions League ambitions

Arsenal's new goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson has hailed the £45million signing of Thomas Partey, claiming it showed a statement of intent both domestically and on the European front.

The Gunners captured the Ghanaian midfielder from Atletico Madrid on deadline day, ending a positive summer transfer window following the earlier arrivals of Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes.

And another fellow Arsenal new boy, Runarsson, whose signing went under the radar after joining as Bernd Leno's back-up in a £1.6m deal from Dijon, has revealed his delight at the arrival of Partey.
