Josephine Henning was an unused substitute as Germany beat Canada in the semi-finals in Rio de Janeiro.
Melanie Behringer opened the scoring after 21 minutes, converting a penalty after Kadeisha Buchanan felled Alexandra Popp.
Germany then added a second goal just moments before the hour mark when Sara Daebritz darted in from the left before firing inside the near post.
Victory over Canada means that Silvia Neid’s side will now face Sweden - who beat Brazil on penalties in their semi-final - in Friday’s final.
