Arsenal academy chief Per Mertesacker has waxed lyrical about club target Dayot Upamecano after his excellent display for Leipzig in their Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.
The centre-back, one of the most talented defensive prospects in Europe, played the full 90 minutes against the LaLiga giants as he frustrated them during a 2-1 win to help his side reach the semi-finals.
Upamecano has been linked with a switch to the Emirates since last year, and Mertesacker fanned the flames over a possible move to London next season by calling him 'one of the most exciting defenders' in world football.
