Danny Welbeck is a surprise name in Gareth Southgate's provisional 55-man squad ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The Brighton & Hove Albion striker, who has 42 caps to his name, has not featured for the Three Lions since way back in 2018 in a 1-0 friendly win over Switzerland at the King Power Stadium.
The 31-year-old, however, has plenty of major tournament experience featuring in three different competitions for his country and notching 16 times for England.
It is his return to form for the Seagulls who have started the season brightly that has perhaps caught the eye of boss Southgate.
