Former Arsenal midfielder who Arsene Wenger hailed as a 'special talent' after asking the club to sign him as a youngster is released by League One side Morecambe

Former Arsenal wunderkind Dan Crowley has been dropped by League One outfit Morecambe and is now a free agent.

Just six years after being heralded by then-manager Arsene Wenger as a 'special talent', the 25-year-old is a free agent and will be desperately seeking a return to action in the wake of leaving the Lancastrian club.

After finishing the season 22nd in the EFL third division, the Shrimps will be relegated to League Two for the 2023/24 campaign, and Crowley is not the only player to have to call time on their time at Morecambe.
