Caitlin Foord scored the winner, assisted by Kyra Cooney-Cross, as Australia beat Wales 2-1 in an international friendly on Saturday.
Both players played 91 minutes of the match, while Steph Catley was an unused subtitute for Joe Montemurro’s Matildas.
Courtney Nevin opened the scoring for Australia in the 28th minute, but Mared Griffiths pulled one back for the hosts at Cardiff City Stadium early in the second half.
Australia took the lead again though when Cooney-Cross’ delivery from the right was cushioned into the roof of the net first time by Foord.
Earlier on Saturday, Sophie Harwood played 90 minutes of England under-19s’ 4-0 win over Greece in Group C of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship qualifiers.
