Diego Costa bids farewell to Atletico Mineiro after just five months with the Brazilian club amid talk of a potential free move to Arsenal... with Mikel Arteta eyeing the ex-Chelsea striker as a January replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Diego Costa has waved goodbye to Atletico Mineiro after terminating his contract with the Brazilian club.

Costa, 33, only joined Antonio Mohamed's side last summer after calling time on his second stint at Atletico Madrid.

But just five months into his spell at the Estadio Mineirao, the Spain striker has parted company with Atletico and could now be heading back to England, with Arsenal reportedly considering a free transfer.

'Today, officially, I say goodbye to Atletico,' Costa wrote on Instagram.
