Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish optimistic in the face of Patrick Vieira's sacking... as former Palace boss Roy Hodgson emerges as a wild-card favourite to take the helm in south London

Steve Parish was adamant that the 'feeling is good' at Crystal Palace in the wake of manager Patrick Vieira's sacking on Friday morning.

The club chairman and co-owner struck an optimistic tone when talking to Sky Sports, after the news had broken and further to a statement from the south London club that former captain Paddy McCarthy would lead the team against Arsenal this weekend.

McCarthy, who coaches the club's under-21 side, will be assisted by Darren Powell and retained first-team goalkeeping coach Dean Kiely when the Eagles travel to the Emirates to face the Premier League leaders.
