Chelsea begin Women's Super League title defence against Tottenham... while Man United are handed a tough start as fixtures are announced

Chelsea will begin their Women’s Super League title defence against London rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge while Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates in the opening round of fixtures.

It’s a tough start for new Spurs boss Robert Vilahamn, who has been tasked with improving the club’s fortunes following a poor 2022-2023 campaign.

Manchester United, who finished one point behind champions Chelsea, will begin the new season with a trip to Aston Villa.

Carla Ward’s side will host United at Villa Park in the first game of the weekend, with a kick-off time of 12.
