Benfica 1-1 Arsenal: Bukayo Saka nets vital away goal immediately after Gunners go behind but visitors will rue draw after dominant display with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missing sitter early on

Arsenal's Europa League last-32 tie against Benfica is finely poised heading into the second leg in Athens next week following a 1-1 draw in Rome on Thursday night.

Arsenal were the dominant team and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a sitter early on at the Stadio Olimpico. But they were made to pay in the 55th minute after Pizzi coolly converted from the penalty spot following an Emile Smith Rowe handball.

However, the Gunners immediately hit back through Bukayo Saka once more, after he slotted home Cedric Soares' cross following a brilliant unlocking pass from Martin Odegaard.
