Arsene Wenger's Arsenal audition involved acting out A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein has spoken about how he first met Arsene Wenger – and it involved the Frenchman acting out A Midsummer Night’s Dream in a game of charades.

The pair first crossed paths while Wenger was Monaco manager in 1989, seven years before officially took over at Arsenal.

Wenger celebrated his 20th anniversary on Thursday and Dein, 73, described the day he got to know the man he would later appoint at Arsenal.
