Arsenal women's star Vivianne Miedema claims she 'didn't feel appreciated' at the Ballon d'Or after the awards gave just one prize for female footballers - while seven were given to the men

Vivianne Miedema has slammed the Ballon d'Or for not treating women's football fairly and focussing more on the men's game.

At the 2022 Ballon d'Or ceremony, seven awards were handed out, but only one of them - the Ballon d'Or Feminin - is an award dedicated to women's football.

The other six gongs are all awards dedicated to the men's game, and the Arsenal star says it's time to make the ceremony a more equal event.

'I didn't feel appreciated as a woman footballer there,' she told the BBC's Behind the Goals podcast.
