Arsenal sweating on Kieran Tierney injury for Newcastle match as manager Mikel Arteta admits he doesn't know when fullback will be fit

Mikel Arteta admits he is in the dark as to when fullback Kieran Tierney will return for Arsenal after the Scot pulled out before the club's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

Tierney was withdrawn just two hours before the game with a muscle issue, and Arsenal were notably lacklustre in their performance against the Eagles.

While an important part of Arsenal's defensive line, Tierney has also become increasingly crucial to Arteta's attacking style and the manager hopes the 23-year-old is not sidelined for too long.

'He's a real threat and the way we attack on the left is really important, but he wasn't here and we need to find other solutions,' Arteta admitted.
