Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud slams PSG's Marco Veratti over red card incident

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud hit out at Paris Saint-Germain dynamo Marco Verratti for escalating the incident that saw both players sent off.

The Italian midfielder and Giroud came together in extra time of Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes and the Arsenal man was left unhappy with how easily Veratti went to ground.

The pair, both on yellow cards for earlier indiscretions, tangled with Giroud bringing down Verratti before Marquinhos pushed the Gunners striker into his team-mate to send him to the floor for a second time.

Hungarian referee Viktor Kassai did not look to have seen the incident but issued a booking apiece for Giroud and Veratti, curtailing their evening just shy of full-time.
