Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits 'making a mistake' not signing Sydney FC's Andrew Redmayne when he had the chance as goalkeeper stars in friendly game

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the English Premier League heavyweights 'made a mistake' not signing Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne.

The friendly match at ANZ Stadium finished 2-0 to the Gunners, but it would have been far worse for the Sky Blues if it wasn't for Redmayne's stellar performance.

'At the end of the day I'd say their goalkeeper was man of the match,' Wenger said at the end of the match, unaware Redmayne trialled at Arsenal as a teenager.
