Arsenal 'line up January move for Barcelona outcast Riqui Puig' following his fallout with boss Ronald Koeman - as Mikel Arteta looks to solve his creative problems after scoring just 15 Premier League goals all season

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a January swoop for Barcelona outcast Riqui Puig as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his creative options in midfield.

The Gunners boss wanted to bring in an attack-minded midfielder in the summer but failed to land his No 1 target Houssem Aouar after holding drawn-out talks with Lyon.

The need for a playmaker has been underlined during Arsenal's woeful start to the season which has seen them score just 15 Premier League goals so far - only sides in the bottom four have netted fewer.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal want to address their creative problem next month and have been looking at a number of options.
