Arsenal flop Mathieu Debuchy is the highest-scoring defender in Europe's top five leagues... with as many goals this season as Mesut Ozil

Mathieu Debuchy is now the highest-scoring defender in Europe's top five leagues after netting the only goal of the game for St Etienne at Strasborg.

The ex-Arsenal defender has bagged four goals since joining St Etienne on a free transfer from the Gunners in January, making him Europe's most prolific defender.

Debuchy's total means he has scored as many goals in Ligue 1 this campaign as his former Arsenal team-mate Mesut Ozil has managed in the Premier League.
